Co-Parenting App Pricing Compared

Co-parenting apps are priced in very different ways: per parent or per family, by tier or in one plan, with a free trial, a refund window or neither. Here is what four of them cost, read from their own pricing pages on 2 November 2026.

The short version (checked 2 November 2026)

  • OurFamilyWizard: four tiers from $110 to $299.88 a year on a one-year plan, and each parent needs a subscription. Full breakdown.
  • AppClose: one plan with every feature, $7.99 a month on the web or $8.99 in the app, with a 60-day free trial. Full breakdown.
  • TalkingParents: $7, $16 or $32 a month by tier, a 30-day free trial, and no free plan since March 30, 2026. Full breakdown.
  • Co-parenting: USD 8.99 a month for the whole family — both parents, the children and every other adult you invite — with every feature and a one-week free trial. Pricing.

What a family pays in a year

A headline price per account hides the bill for the family, so here is the arithmetic for two parents who each need access. These are our sums from the listed prices, not prices the companies quote:

  • OurFamilyWizard, if each parent has their own subscription: $220 a year on the entry plan, $299.98 on Essentials, $432 on Premium and $599.76 on Max. The company says each parent needs a subscription, but you can pay for your co-parent.
  • Co-parenting: $107.88 for twelve months at USD 8.99, for both parents and everyone else you invite, because only one person needs a subscription.
  • AppClose and TalkingParents: prices are per account, so multiply by the number of parents who will pay. TalkingParents' pricing page says co-parents do not have to be on the same plan, which suggests each parent chooses their own; AppClose's page does not say, so check before assuming.

What changes the price inside each app

  • Calling. OurFamilyWizard gives 45 minutes a month of calling on Essentials and unlimited calls from Premium; TalkingParents gives 30, 60 or unlimited minutes by tier; AppClose lists unlimited calling in its single plan. Co-parenting records, stores and logs calls made in the app.
  • Message coaching. OurFamilyWizard's Writing Assistant starts at Essentials, TalkingParents' Sentiment Scanner and Writing Assist are on Ultimate only, AppClose's Co-Parent Assist is in the single plan, and in Co-parenting every message passes through the TalkSafe filter, which suggests a rewrite for milder wording and blocks the worst.
  • Records. OurFamilyWizard's unlimited certified records (notarized, printed and mailed) start at Premium; TalkingParents includes one printed records package on Ultimate; AppClose says US users can generate certified electronic business records; Co-parenting exports chat logs and change requests as a verifiable PDF.
  • Payments. TalkingParents charges a fee on payments made through its app (4%, 3% or 2% by tier). OurFamilyWizard limits the number of OFWpay payments on lower tiers. Co-parenting's Finance Assistant splits the children's costs and connects to services such as Venmo and Cash App.
  • Storage and commitment. OurFamilyWizard sells one- and two-year plans; AppClose has monthly and prepaid plans; TalkingParents bills monthly or annually with an 8% discount for annual; Co-parenting is monthly with no binding period.

Can you use any of them for free?

None of the four apps compared here is free for two parents to use in full indefinitely. TalkingParents says a paid subscription has been required since March 30, 2026. What the companies offer instead:

  • Fee waivers. OurFamilyWizard, AppClose and TalkingParents all publish a fee waiver program for parents in financial need; AppClose and TalkingParents also name survivors of domestic violence. Apply through the company.
  • Military discount. OurFamilyWizard lists a reduced rate for military families, and AppClose lists a military discount application.
  • Free trials. AppClose offers 60 days, TalkingParents 30 days, and Co-parenting one week with every feature unlocked. OurFamilyWizard lists a full refund within the first 30 days instead of a trial.
  • Free accounts for others. OurFamilyWizard offers free limited accounts for children and third parties and free access for your professionals. In Co-parenting everyone you invite — your co-parent, the children, grandparents — gets a free account under the one subscription.

How to choose

  • Is an app named in your court order or settlement? Then that is the app, whatever the price. Ask your lawyer or mediator before switching.
  • Does a court or lawyer need certified records or an affidavit from the company? OurFamilyWizard and AppClose describe those services on their pricing pages. Co-parenting's FAQ describes verifiable PDF exports that carry proof they have not been edited, and those exports have been used in court proceedings; if you need something more specific, ask us at hello@co-parenting.app before relying on it.
  • Do you want one bill for the family, or one per parent? That single question changes the comparison more than any tier.
  • Which features will you actually use? Calls, the writing coach, payments and storage are what the tiers are made of. Our OurFamilyWizard alternatives guide goes through what suits whom.

Frequently asked questions

Which co-parenting app is the cheapest?

On headline prices per account, AppClose's prepaid web plans (from $5.99 a month) and TalkingParents' Essentials tier ($7 a month) are lowest, but Essentials has limits on calling minutes and storage. The cheapest for a family also depends on whether both parents pay: Co-parenting charges once per family, at USD 8.99 a month.

Is there a free co-parenting app?

Not for the full product. TalkingParents ended its free plan on March 30, 2026, and the others charge after a trial or a refund window. Fee waivers exist for parents in financial need. In Co-parenting, only one person subscribes and everyone they invite gets a free account.

Do both parents have to pay for the app?

In OurFamilyWizard, yes: each parent needs a subscription, though you can pay for your co-parent. In Co-parenting, no — one subscription covers both parents, the children and every other invited adult. For AppClose and TalkingParents, check the company's terms for your situation.

Which co-parenting app has a free trial?

AppClose lists 60 days with no credit card, TalkingParents 30 days, and Co-parenting one week with every feature unlocked. OurFamilyWizard lists a 30-day refund window rather than a trial.

How often do these prices change?

Often enough that you should confirm before buying. This page records what each pricing page said on 2 November 2026.
