Co-parenting add-on for Gmail™
The Co-parenting add-on for Gmail™ brings useful email information into your family’s plans. Choose a message, let AI suggest activities, and review the suggestions in the app.
Connect the add-on
You need a Co-parenting account and a family. Co-parenting’s subscription terms apply.
- Log in to the web app. Open Settings using the cog in the navigation and find Email integration. Press Activate if that button is shown.
- Once the Co-parenting add-on for Gmail™ is installed, open an email and select Co-parenting in the side panel.
- Choose Connect Co-parenting and follow the link to the app. Confirm the Google™ account and family you want to connect.
- Return to the Gmail™ email interface. Choose Refresh connection from the add-on’s menu if the connection is not shown immediately.
Analyze an email
- Open the email in the Gmail™ email interface and select Co-parenting.
- Press Analyze: followed by the email’s subject. This submits the selected email and its attachments to Co-parenting for AI analysis.
- Open the app to read the summary and review the suggestions. Check dates, times and participants before adding activities to your calendar.
The add-on reads the subject to label its button. Opening the side panel alone does not submit the email’s content for analysis, and the add-on does not scan your inbox in the background.
Forward from any email service
Find your family’s forwarding address under Settings → Email integration. Press Copy, then forward an email to that address. Keep the address private because it is used to send information to your family.
In the reply or forward window of the Gmail™ email service, you can also open Co-parenting and choose Set Co-parenting as recipient. This replaces To with your family’s address and clears CC and BCC. It leaves the subject, body and attachments unchanged. You press Send yourself. Choose Forward to include the original message’s attachments.
What information is used?
When you choose Analyze, our backend processes the selected email’s subject, sender, date, text and attachments. OpenAI performs the analysis with relevant family information. The summary and suggestions become available in the family you selected. Normally forwarded emails are received through Resend; the sidebar’s Analyze button submits directly to our backend.
Read our privacy policy and terms of use.
Limits and troubleshooting
You can request 10 analyses per hour and 100 per rolling seven days. This limit applies to the recipient’s app account and is shared between the Co-parenting add-on for Gmail™ and forwarded emails.
The Analyze button supports up to 200,000 text characters and eight attachments totalling 4 MB. Inline signature images are excluded. Try a smaller email if you exceed the limit.
If the connection is missing, choose Refresh connection from the add-on’s menu and check that you are using the right Google™ account and family. Your organisation’s administrator may need to allow installation of the add-on.
Disconnect and get help
In the app, open Settings → Email integration, open the connection settings for the Gmail™ email service and choose the disconnect option. You can also uninstall the Co-parenting add-on for Gmail™. Disconnecting stops new submissions through that connection, but does not erase information already processed or delivered to your family, or cancel analysis already queued.
