The Chat Simplifies Your Communication
Chat is the easiest way to check in and share quick updates when you're on the go. The app keeps every conversation about the kids in organized threads, and the TalkSafe AI filter keeps the tone civil — nothing gets lost, and nothing toxic gets through.
Who Can See What in the Chat?
Every chat thread has its own visibility setting. When you start a new thread, you choose who can see and write in it — being invited to the app doesn't mean seeing every thread. Want to discuss something with your co-parent alone? Make the thread visible only to them. Want the children, or another trusted adult you've invited, to see and take part? Make it visible to them too.
Messages also have read receipts, so you can see when the other person has seen what you wrote. And because the chat is a closed system, messages go straight between you inside the app — nothing ever lands in a spam folder.
How Do I Invite Someone to the Chat?
Anyone with an account under the same family subscription as you can be invited to a chat thread. Here's how:
- Go to Chat and tap the orange plus sign at the bottom right.
- Give the thread a name or subject.
- Tap the avatars of everyone you want to include (their avatars turn colorful).
- Tap "Create."
Your new chat thread now sits at the top of the thread list.
If someone in the family isn’t in the app yet, invite them via Settings: choose "Add Child" or "Add Important Adult," depending on who it is.
How Do I Archive a Thread or Change Its Name?
Open the thread and tap the three dots at the top right. From there you can rename the thread or archive it.
Can I Delete a Chat Thread?
No. What is written stays written: conversations can’t be edited or deleted afterward, because it can be important to go back and see exactly what was said. If you no longer want a conversation in your list, archive it instead.
TalkSafe: The AI Filter That Stops Toxic Language
Every message passes through TalkSafe, the app's AI language filter, before it is sent — in both directions. If your wording is mildly toxic — a swear word, a jab, a negative comment — TalkSafe flags it and shows you a suggested, milder rewrite, which you can accept or ignore. If the wording is worse than that, the message is blocked outright and never reaches the other parent.
Want a firmer line? You can turn on a stricter filter mode in Settings, and it applies to messages both to and from you.
